Historic Ligonier cordially invites you to visit our scenic valley
Welcome to the historic Ligonier Valley – recognized by Country Living Magazine as one of "The Most Charming Small Towns in America" and by The Washington Post as a “Small-Town Charmer” Steeped in history dating back to the French & Indian War at Fort Ligonier, the town is filled with more than 60 specialty shops, restaurants and places to stay. The Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce hosts special events year-round from Icefest to Antiques on the Diamond to Fort Ligonier Days. The scenic valley which surrounds the town is home to Idlewild Park & SoakZone – voted “Best Amusement Park for Children in the World,” as well as Compass Inn Museum, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Linn Run State Park and just a short drive from fantastic skiing and snowboarding at Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Hidden Valley Resort.
Located in the very heart of the town of Ligonier is the Diamond, a beautiful park perfectly accented by trees, flowers and birds. There are park benches and the iconic bandstand where band concerts and other events are held. The Diamond is surrounded by unique shops and businesses and even our majestic Town Hall. The streets extend out in all four directions from the Diamond to even more of our town's shops, restaurants and attractions. The Diamond is properly named because it truly is a jewel in the center of our town.
